Obituary of Irene Plys

Irene Plys 91 of Priceton Jct. passed away June 5, 2024 peacefully.

Mrs. Plys was born in Lviv, Ukraine and has been a resident of Trenton area and Princeton Jct. since 1951.

She is retired from the State of New Jersey, Division of Aging, and formerly was employed in Dept of Community Affairs and the office of the Secretary of State.

A parishioner of St. Josephat Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed embroidery and was an avid reader.

Daughter of the late Roman and Tekla Haninczak.

Sister of the late George Haninczak.

Wife of the late Peter Plys.

Surviving are 2 sons and a daughter in law,

Oleh Plys and wife Carol Magistrelli.

Yaroslav Plys.

Grandchildren Kristin Plys and Evan Plys.

Niece and nephew Lidia Rojek and Leo Haninczak.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday, June 12, 2024, 10:30am at St. Josephat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1195 Deutz Ave, Trenton NJ. Rev. Taras R. Lonchyna will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery #3.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 4:30 – 6:30pm at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton.

Paristas service will be at 6:30pm

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great (www.stbasils.com) or to St. Josephat's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
