Very sad to hear of John’s passing. He was always there when you needed him, whether in school or as a comfort in time of need. His sincere caring when my mom died and the support he gave us was unforgettable. I loved seeing him with Dolores at Vince’s Pizza on Monday pasta nights. Always had a few laughs and it was always good to see him. He is a great loss to all who knew him. Marietta Pratico Agocs

John was a very special person. He seemed to have the answer for anything you asked him. Reliable, sincere, supportive and generous all come to mind. Loved running into Dolores and John at Vince’s Pizza on Monday nights. He will be missed. Marietta Pratico Agocs

Condolences to the family. I remember Mr. Grussler as a teacher at Cathedral HS, where I was part of the Class of 1970. He ran the school store beneath the gymnasium, where I worked during lunch hour. He was a devoted teacher and family man. May he rest in peace. Robert Toth, Surfside, FL.

Dolores and family, I am so sorry for your loss, John was a special man. He lived his faith and was a great example to those who worked at ND with him. I still remember on 9/11, John's office was across from my classroom. He knocked on the door and brought me over to witness the 2nd plane strike. He turned to me and asked me to pray with him for the people in the towers. We prayed and I still treasure the moment and the man. He then immediately thought of the students and how we could help. Thanks for the gift of John, he was a good friend and man. Remember the good that John brought to your world, I know I will. You are in my prayers, rest in peace John. Greg Schafer Notre Dame

I came to Nd in 1976 and John was one of the first people I met.He made me feel very comfortable from the very beginning!!Over the yrs we developed a great relationship.I am sad to hear about his passing !!I am sure he already has an important role in in heaven!!Our loss is heavens gain!!Chappy
