Obituary of Elizabeth A. O'Shaughnessy

Elizabeth Scovel O'Shaughnessy, 55, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on October 28th at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Elizabeth O'Shaughnessy was born in Port Jefferson, NY, to James and Dixie Scovel on October 26th, 1967. She spent her childhood in Setauket, NY, graduating from Ward Melville High School in 1985. Aside from being an outstanding mother of three, and a friend to many, she was an employee of ShopRite for the past 10 years. Elizabeth was an organ donor, and her final gifts will help provide a future to others.
Elizabeth is survived by her father James Scovel of Northport, NY; mother Dixie Scovel of Water Valley, MS; son Aiden O'Shaughnessy of Hamilton, NJ; daughter Mary O'Shaughnessy of Hamilton, NJ; son James O'Shaughnessy and daughter-in-law Chelsea Krzemien, both of Buffalo, NY; sister Jessica Scovel and brother-in-law Anthony Low of Queens, NY; partner Stephen Bingert of Hamilton, NJ; lifelong best friend Lisbeth Reilly of Bethpage, NY; and former husband Patrick O'Shaughnessy of Hamilton, NJ. She is predeceased by her former partner David Bercy.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 3:00pm at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad Street Hamilton, NJ 08610. Calling hours will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Sharing Network Foundation, the non-profit organization responsible for the recovery and placement of donated organs and tissue for the nearly 4,000 New Jersey residents currently awaiting transplantation, at sharingnetworkfoundation.org. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Knott's Colonial Funeral home, the staff of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Neurocritical Care Unit, and the staff of the New Jersey Sharing Network.
