Memories
Annamae was one of my best friends, and a family member. Family is not only blood related family, but those people to whom one is not related at all, but who serve in the social role of a family member who is frequently present in one’s life.
Annamae and Al were my daughters' grandparents and the great grandmother who stood at the altar for my granddaughter's Christening ceremony. My heart is heavy, and I miss her terribly. Our very close relationship began thirty-seven years ago, when I became her next door neighbor.
We went to Maine and traveled through New York and Pennsylvania on vacations. Nancy and Amy loved their grandparents. My children learned how to catch crabs, and I learned how to make scrapple, cabbage noodles and both refrigerator and dill pickles. Shooting the bacon was so much fun, and we were able to do that with her at her 90th birthday party. We looked forward to going to Bahrs Seafood Restaurant, Sandy Hook, every year to celebrate Al’s birthday.
I spent most nights for many years enjoying their company, and of course having cocktails. There was nothing that Annamae or Al could ask me to do that I would not do for them. I loved them and respected them. I will never forget all the things I have learned , the good times (too many to mention) and the love we had for each other.
You are pain free and at peace. I will always miss our nights together. The memories and stories will never fade. I love you, my sister and my friend. You will never be forgotten.
