Obituary of Daniel R. Dombroski, Jr.

Daniel R. Dombroski, jr. passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Sunday December 13, 2020. He was 84 years old. He was married to the late Dorothy Dombroski for many years and who passed away 17 years ago. He is survived by his son Andrew Dombroski, many nieces and nephews and their families. Daniel was a geologist who worked for decades at the Geologic Survey of New Jersey. He had many friends there whom he kept in touch with even after his retirement. He had a talent for science, math and computers and encouraged his son in these fields (who has since become a software engineer). He had a lifelong love for hiking and camping, particularly in Vermont. It was at one such hike that he met his future wife Dorothy, who shared this love for the outdoors. The friendships that from their "Collage Alumni Hiking Club" would last a lifetime. He was active in his church (St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish), within the 'Holy Name Society' and later the 'Knights of Columbus'. He enjoyed travelling with fellow parishioners on retreats and pilgrimages around the world. With the COVID situation, there will be no funeral at this time. A private family service will be held sometime in the new year. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the "Trenton Area Soup Kitchen".
