Obituary of Maria Hluszok

MARIA HLUSZOK Maria Hluszok 81 of Hamilton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday November 3, 2017. Maria was born in Hynovychi, Ukraine. in 1944 the family, along with thousands of others impacted by WWII, was forced to flee Ukraine and in 1949 Maria and her family arrived in the USA. She has been a resident of Hamilton most of her life. Maria attended Cathedral High School and Rider College. She was an active member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church and it's Sisterhood, Ukrainian Woman's League of America, Plast-Ukrainian Scouts organization and the Ukrainian National Home. Among the many way Maria impacted our lives, her love of life was reflected in her wide grasp of political issues on a national and international scale, and her discussion of them with any willing participant.. She also had a passion for flowers. Maria will always be remembered by her family for her passionate devotion and concern for their well being and her unconditional love for all of them, especially her beloved grandchildren in all their achievements and endeavors, Her unrelenting generosity and support of Christian and Ukrainian Charities will serve as an inspiration to all of us, moving forward, in our eternal memory of her. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and Mychajlo Mrochko. Her sister Anastasia Kontschmaryk, her brother Stefan Mrochko and by her husbands George Haninczak and Michael Hluszok. Maria is survived by her daughter Lydia and her husband Ken Rojek. Her son Leo Haninczak. Her 4 grandchildren Erika and Philip Rojek and Michael and Matthew Haninczak. her nephew Ostap Kontschmaryk. Brother in law Bohdan Kontschmaryk Sisters in law Irene Plys and Myroslawa Hluszok and husband Don Jones as well as extended family in Ukraine. Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30am Wednesday at St. Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call 6:00 - 9:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 - 10:00am Wednesday at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 So Broad St. Hamilton Memorial contributions and Mass offering may be made to Saint Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1195 Deutz Ave, Trenton NJ 08611
