Obituary of Audrey Blauth Schimpf

Audrey B. Schimpf ("Meem") May 14, 1926 – July 31, 2026 Audrey B. Schimpf, lovingly known as "Meem" to her family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 31, 2026, in Burlington, New Jersey, at the age of 100. Born on May 14, 1926, in Trenton, New Jersey, Audrey was the beloved daughter of Charles and Evelyn Blauth. She lived an extraordinary century marked by resilience, creativity, and an unwavering devotion to family. She attended the University of Pennsylvania before embarking on a life that blended business, artistry, and a deep commitment to those she loved. Audrey was the beloved wife of the late Frank W. Schimpf. Together they built a life centered on family and the successful operation of Blauth Hardware and Lumber. Following Frank's sudden passing in 1983, Audrey demonstrated remarkable strength and determination by assuming ownership and operation of the family business. Through hard work, perseverance, and grace, she successfully carried the business forward while continuing to serve as the heart and matriarch of her family. An accomplished artist, equestrian, gardener, and business owner, Audrey found joy in many pursuits. She especially enjoyed teaching oil painting, cultivating beautiful gardens, entertaining family and friends in her home, and spending time with those she loved. Always impeccably dressed and quick to welcome family and friends into her home, Audrey had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel valued, loved, and at ease. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her. Above all, Audrey treasured her family. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey A. Schimpf (Donna);her daughter in law Jennifer Schimpf; her brother, Gerald Blauth; six grandchildren, Jason Schimpf (Melissa), Casey Schimpf McKenna, Dana Steward (Steven Palaschak; the late Joseph Steward), Jessica Schimpf, Ian Schimpf, and Taylor Schimpf; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Schimpf, Aubrey Steward, Lucas McKenna, Haleigh Schimpf, Madison Steward, Zoey Steward, and Carter Morris. She also shared a special bond with her many nieces and nephews, who remained an important part of her life throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Schimpf; her son, Frank K. Schimpf; and her brothers, Charles Blauth and Allan Blauth. Family gatherings were among Audrey's happiest moments. Whether spending time with her parents and siblings, hosting friends in her home, teaching others to paint, or simply enjoying the company of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family, she created cherished memories and lasting traditions. She instilled in her family the enduring values of love, integrity, generosity, hard work, and togetherness. As the matriarch of the Schimpf family, her wisdom, strength, and unconditional love will remain her greatest legacy. Audrey lived her life with purpose, dignity, and compassion. She leaves behind generations of family whose lives were enriched by her example and whose hearts will forever carry the lessons she taught through the way she lived. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, strength, and legacy will live on in the family she cherished. Funeral service will be held Friday 11:00am at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call Thursday 5:00 – 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in North Crosswicks Cemetery.
