Mason was more than a friend to me he was family. He was the closest thing I ever had to a brother, and losing him feels like losing a part of myself. From the moment I heard the news, something inside me broke in a way I can’t fully describe. It felt unreal at first like the world had suddenly tilted, like something that was never supposed to happen had happened anyway. Mason had a light in him… something pure, something gentle, something honestly rare in this world. He cared without asking, laughed without judgment, and carried a kind of innocence that made you want to protect him. I keep replaying memories in my head moments I didn’t even realize would matter this much someday. The way he talked, the way he smiled, the way he made even simple moments feel meaningful. And now I would give anything… truly anything… just for one more minute with him. One more conversation. One more chance to tell him how special he was and how deeply he mattered. I wish I could have been there for him in the way he deserved. I wish I could have stood between him and the world, even for a moment. If I had the chance, I would have done anything to keep him safe. Because for me, Mason wasn’t just someone I knew he was someone I cared about with all my heart. Since he’s gone, everything feels heavier. The days feel quieter. Even the air feels different, as if the world is missing something it can’t get back. And I know I will carry this pain with me for a long time. But I will also carry him in my memories, in my heart, and in everything I do moving forward. Mason, if somehow you can hear this… Thank you for being in my life. Thank you for the moments, the conversations, the laughter, the kindness. You were a blessing, and I will never forget you. You will always be my brother in spirit. And I hope wherever you are now, you are at peace, surrounded by the love you always gave to others.”

On my first visits to the pond on the Knott property I was introduced to Mason by his Dad Fred and invited to fish Mason was like my personal guide....he was a great fisherman and fun to be around He showed me the finer points of techniques and lures to be used He obviously had a passion for the outdoors and loved his family dearly
